MEETING OF DIOCESAN PASTORAL COUNCIL
OCTOBER 2011 The Diocesan Pastoral Council met under the presidency of Cardinal Brady in Dromantine on Saturday 22nd October. It was a very full day with reports from the 8 commissions and an update on the pastoral areas. It is evident that there is a huge amount of work being undertaken in a host of situations and there is huge evidence of collaboration between priests and clergy. Some pastoral areas are working very effectively while others are not yet fully functioning. A fuller account of the pastoral areas and the work of each commission will be collated and made available at a later stage. Some outstanding amendments to the constitution were carried by a show of hands. The meeting was chaired by the interim chairperson, Mr Patrick Logue, who steered us masterfully through the busy agenda. One of the highlights of the gathering was an excellent talk delivered by Mr. Ned Prendergast, Director of Faith Development with CEIST. The text of his talk is available below |
